Catching Up

February 28, 2008

It’s been a while since I’ve written anything. Not because nothing’s been going on, I’ve just been lazy. Here’s a quick run down of what I’ve been doing.

1 . Went and saw Reba and Kelly Clarkson in concert at the new Sprint Center a week ago Saturday. This was the 5th time I’m seen Reba live. The show was really good and I was really impressed with Kelly Clarkson. I didn’t realize I knew so many of her songs. I still would have preferred that Reba was solo, but this was a nice change from previous shows I’ve seen. Below are a couple pics of the show from the KC Star.

2. I slipped and fell on the ice last week and landed on by back. Ouch! That hurt like hell. I thought I was ok but a couple days later my back and shoulder really started hurting. It was so painful that I had to leave work so I could go to the doctor. I ended up having to get some x-ray pics taken but nothing unusual showed up. Thank goodness, I really thought something must have been broker or screwed up. After about a week the pain finally subsided and I think I’m back to normal now.

3. So my back finally got better and then a couple days later I burnt the shit out of my hand on the stove. I’m such a moron sometimes. So now I’ve got a couple of big welts on my fingers and its really annoying. Reminds me of when I used to work at Long John Silvers and would get burned by the grease all the time.

4. Have decided that I really want to get serious about quiting smoking again. I’ve mentioned it a few times but haven’t gotten serious. Today has been the first time I’ve gone all day without a cigarette in a long time. Feels good, got to keep it up.

Not to exciting, but thats been what’s been going on. Thank God Winter is finally on its way out. I’m really ready for some warm weather, longer days, and spring time activities. Maybe another quick vacation, will have to think about it.

Marilyn Manson – Rape of the World

February 14, 2008

MM-1

The Marilyn Manson concert Monday night at the Uptown Theater was a killer show. This was my 5th Manson concert and one of the best shows from them I have seen. Still didn’t quite rank up to the first time I saw Manson during the Dope Show tour but this was pretty damn close. I thought the set list was really good however I was a little disappointed that they didn’t sing Dope Hat or I Don’t Like the Drugs. The highlight of the show, of course, was when the podium came out and Manson went into a short set of Antichrist Superstar songs. At one point he pulled out a bible but didn’t shred it up, just threw it down. That was kind of surprising, I thought for sure he would make a big deal about destroying it. Oh well.

I was surprised at how good the crowd was. We were standing right next to a small mosh pit and I managed to get kicked in the eye by a body surfer. No harm done though. Everyone was pushing, shoving, screaming, and jumping up and down. . . I was loving it. I don’t’ care if I act like a complete idiot at these types of concerts, so does everyone else. After the concert I was completely drenched in sweat, it looked like I had just stepped in from a rain storm. It never seemed like it got that hot though in the auditorium, maybe because it was so damn cold outside. After the show I went home to see how my pictures came out. Overall I was quite pleased with them. I also took my iriver to the concert to try and record some audio. I thought I had it turned on correctly but when I checked it the next day there was no audio. Maybe I’m downloading the mp3’s wrong or something. I hope so because I’m curious as to how it would sound.

MM-3

I have a feeling this will be the last time I see a Marilyn Manson concert. His career seems to be going in other directions and he keeps kicking band members out the band. Who knows, maybe there will be a 6th. If not, thanks Manson, Twiggy, M.W. Gacy, John 5, and the others for 5 awesome shows. (Well, technically it’s only 4 because the last time I went they only played 3 songs before the crowd got to wild and they had to shut the concert down.)

Year of the Rat

February 7, 2008

Rat

Happy Chinese New Year!.  Its the year of the rat.  The rat is associated with aggression, wealth, charm, and order, yet also associated with death, war, the occult, pestilence, and atrocities.  I was born in the year of the horse, got a few years to go before that comes up again.

A Sexy Pic?

February 5, 2008

Found this pic of myself while clearing some crap off my hard drive. Ignoring the bored look on my face, I think this is a pretty hot pic of myself.
