Heading home on the Southwest Chief. . . B and I had a great time in Chicago this weekend. We did the things I always do when I go there. We ran amuk in Boystown, did some shopping on Michigan Avenue, and ate at some new places. As much as I love going to Chicago, I don’t think I could ever live there 
Their winter lasts too long for me. If I ever move somewhere other than Kansas City, it will have to be to a place with a warmer climate Anyway, as always, the highlight of the trip was the train ride up and the train ride back. I love the city, but its just become too familiar. It’s not like even going out of town anymore. But I keep going back just to get more rides on the Chief. This Spring I would like to take an overnight trip, perhaps to LA. Or maybe even the California Zephyr out to San Francisco. Now that would be a great ride. Spring is still a ways away though I’ve got time to think about it.
Since tomorrow is MLK day, I get the day off work. I’m really glad I have a day to rest up from this quick vacation. It’s been a great three days, and I definitely need some down time before I go back to work.
